Maija Kāle

Latvian researcher Maija Kāle received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Latvia in 2023. She specialises in food computing, with a focus on food systems analysis, big data and food language. Her work aims to improve the understanding of the societal impact of food data, especially on the environment and health. In 2024, her project on tracking climate change communication in social media won a FORTHEM Academy for Early-Stage Researchers award.
