The most innovative solution on digitalization Award for the food and beverage industry:

This category seeks to recognise the work and effort of the company, platform, solution or technological application that is impacting and transforming the food and beverage industry, its sales model, its production, process, contact with the consumer or value proposition through a solution linked to the digital and technological sphere.

Agricolus:Agricolus is working in Smart Farming sector, providing with a cloud applications ecosystem for precision farming with multiple purposes: disease awareness and forecasts, crop monitoring, decision support system for treatments and fertilizers, farm management and “end-to-end” traceability bringing valuable information to final users.

Finalists:

  • Agwa: Agwa developed an AI-based virtual agronomist technology for Indoor home farming that has proven itself with over 260 paying customers, who enjoy a constant supply of fresh, tasty vegetables without having to do any gardening themselves.
  • BioQ Analyzers: BioQ design and develop new disruptive low cost devices for massive inspection all along the production process. From the raw material to the user experience. BioQ devices powers trust and traceability with new Data analyzers.

Best Sustainability Project: 

 

This category seeks to recognise the work and effort of the company, platform, solution or technological application that is impacting and transforming the food and beverage industry, its sales model, its production, process, contact with the consumer or value proposition through a solution linked to the digital and technological sphere.

BioProcesia: BioProcesia upcycles agrifood by-products into high-value protein for a more circular, sustainable and healthy animal feed.

Finalists:

  • KITRO: Using artificial intelligence, KITRO offers an automated food waste data collection and analysis solution that can be adopted by the food and beverage industry around the world.
  • Plant on demand: Plant on demand optimize the short food supply chain and help farmers sell more and better. Working with producers, coops, food hubs and governments to enable cooperation between actors through technology, facilitating the access to local and organic food to +20k people daily.

 

Healthy Food: 

The aim is to recognise the work and effort of the company, project or platform that promotes an innovative and/or scientific solution that promotes healthy eating. This award contributes to the promotion of innovative projects developed throughout the value chain of the food industry, as well as projects within the framework of Foodtech whose solution has a direct impact on healthy eating.

Bread Free: Bread Free has developed a technology, protected under patent, that can generate gluten-free wheat flour suitable for celiac people, using a combination of Biotechnology, AI and by-products of the agrifood industry.

Finalists:

  • CAMPOMAYOR: Campomayor is a Galician egg producer with a commitment to innovation. They work from egg whites, and with the help of the CSIC they are able to work on a process that allows to obtain new characteristics from this raw material.
  • O TASTE: O Taste has a revolutionary way to process sugar, so that a tiny pinch of it would be as sweet as a full spoonful.

 

The most innovative FoodTech Startup: 

This award is aimed at the most innovative startups with the greatest impact on digitalisation, sustainability and health in the Foodtech sector. Whether they are at a very early stage or at a more advanced stage, innovation and disruption in the solution itself will be valued. This category, in turn, will receive applications submitted directly from the Foodtech Startup Forum of Food 4 Future – Expo FoodTech.

Lyras: Lyras has a new green pasteurization replacement using 60-90 % less energy and 60-80 % water, while maintaining the original taste and structure of liquid food.

Finalists:

  • Nova Industria Galega: NIGAL presents Libatio, a comprehensive system for real-time monitoring of wine and liquor maturation comprised of a smart bung and a web and mobile platform.
  • Algaria: Algaria presents microalgae, a promising source of protein that could potentially substitute traditional protein sources such as meat, soy, and dairy with a variety of essential nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

 

The Best Automation and Robotics solution: 

This category is focused on the use of automation and robotics to boost the competitiveness of their production processes or into their factories. Projects focused on the field of innovation, research and development (R + D + I) between industrial companies, technology centres or robotics manufacturers may also be presented.

AINIA: Their solution features an autonomous mobile robot with GPS and vision sensors, an intelligent vision system using AI to detect fallen fruit, and a collaborative robot with a food-safe harvesting tool.

Finalists:

  • Mifood: MiFood builds robot workers for farms to reduce food waste, crop losses by 30%, labor shortages, labor cost by 50%, co2 emissions and workplace accidents in every farm.
  • Protenga: They have developed a data-driven insect technology that produces best-in-class, sustainable nutrition for pet food, feed and plants and enables a circular food system.

 

Spanish startup with the greatest international projection

This award seeks to recognise the Spanish startup with the greatest international projection. Their foodtech solution is considered to have a fully defined global impact in tackling some of the major challenges facing the food and beverage industry.

NUCAPS: They present NextGen Functional Ingredients: Protein microencapsulated bioactives and probiotics with improved functionalities in nutrition, costs and health.

Finalists:
